Match abandoned

Match had to be abandoned after just a few overs.

Skipper Kevin Meakin won the toss yet again and elected to field first. Kev opened the bowling himself and with Ben Compton at the other end. Neither batsmen looked comfortable on the soft wicket and Meakin was unlucky not to get a wicket in his first over. Three overs later the batsmen went for a crazy run and Meakin fielded the ball to keeper Jamie for the easy run out. That was the last action of the game as the rain came down hard and soaked the wicket. Baldock were keen to call it off, as was groundsman Julian, but Ware 2s wanted a game and waited a long time, hoping it would dry out. Then more rain came and that was it. Baldock went home, leaving Ware to eat all the tea made by Simon Green (Thanks Si).
