Rain Rain And Then More Rain

With the weather set at rainy - we did start the game on a firm Widford pitch under constant drizzle - Found the opposition in fine form and even though clothes and whites were getting soaked through - so to be fair bowling and batting in pretty horrible conditions some good contributions with the bat captain chipping in with 20 odd - a fine 20 from U15 Alex Washbourne and the main contribution of 43 from Dave Smith - meant that the 2nd team limped to a total of 130 - the Cheshunt skipper Simon England getting a 5 -for but with the depth in bowling we had it was not all doom and gloom we felt we had a chance - but as the rain got heavier and heavier - we never did return to the pitch after tea - with the game being called off - no result 10 Points each
