Match Report

The 2s travelled to Okd Owens this week and on what looked like a very good track. Won the toss and batted. A solid start saw us get to 68 before losing a wicket off of 16 overs. Then another strong partnership between Tom and Dom add nearly 100 beforeDom was dismissed on 46. Tom continued supported by George 18 before being dismissed in last couple of over for 122! Well batted Tom. as we reached 239 for 6 off our 40 overs. We then took to the field despite tight bowling from Ben and Immy they got off to a solid start keeping up with the run rate. Ben then dismissed one opener with a great catch at slip by Jack. A change in the bowling saw Jamie join the attack with an unbelievable ball dismissing their number 3 and Sam C joining the attack too. We bowled decently but never got them behind the run rate even when the reintroduction of Ben K and him picking up 2 wickets in an over and Ian M getting a wicket in his only over before a sore shoulder made him retire. Immy picked up a wicket too, but they always kept up with run rate and got home with an over to spare. Disappointing loss after a great batting performance. On another day we would have won.
